Sam's career began in film editing, where she honed her skills for timing and pacing; an invaluable asset in her directing work. Over the past decade, Sam has directed television series, films, and commercials.
Named by Playback as "One to Watch," Samantha MacAdam is a Guyanese-Canadian award-winning director.
Sam has always had a passion for comedy. Her commercial work includes the CBC Juno Awards campaign starring Simu Liu (Barbie), which she co-wrote and directed. The campaign received two PROMAX Award nominations (Best Director/Best in Live Events).
Other comedic work includes her highly successful short film Prom Night, which she wrote and directed. It premiered at Just For Laughs in Kevin Hart's LOL Showcase, where it was a top-five finalist out of 650 films and won Audience Favourite. She remains passionate about writing and directing commercially fun and viable stories. She was recently spotlighted in Little Black Book for her latest spot, "Gourmade," a satirical commercial where a woman gets into a fight with her smart oven.
Sam is currently in post-production on her romantic comedy TV-movie Savvy Sheldon, which she directed for Bell Media, the CW Network, and Fox Studios.
